When producing the Rocky Mountain Altitude they wanted to produce a bike that handled as well going uphill as it did during the descent. To achieve this Rocky Mountain put a 76 degree seat tube angle which Rocky Mountain calls Straight Up geometry. This is much steeper than most bikes but puts you in an aggressive position for the climb. The weight of the bike is also pushed more to the front than almost any bike on the market.
The frame is a RMB for 7005 aluminum making the bike light but sturdy enough to handle the abuse of daily training. The fork is a FOX 32 Float RL, 140mm, lockout and rebound 15mm axle. The frame rides on Mavic XC717 rims that are covered with WTB Wolverine 26 tires. Rocky Mountain Altitude is a bike in its own category.
The heightened degrees in the seat tube allow the bike to climb better than any other bike on the market. Have no worries though the Rocky Mountain Altitude 70 is still able to make it back down the mountain and will keep you coming back for more.
